Over the five days from August 12 to 16, 2026, Ho Chi Minh City became the focal point as AASC Auditing Firm Company Limited was honored to host the HLB Asia Pacific & Emerging Markets Conference 2026. Under the theme “Connected Markets, Sustainable Futures: Innovation, Trade, and Global Partnerships,” the event brought together dozens of senior leaders from HLB Global member firms, featuring strategic discussions while showcasing Vietnam’s cultural identity and hospitality.
In his welcoming speech, Mr. Ngo Duc Doan – Chairman of AASC, representing the host country, emphasized:
“The fact that AASC is honored to be entrusted by HLB Global and the region with hosting the HLB APAC & Emerging Markets Conference 2026 is not only a great source of pride but also a testament to the maturity and increasingly prominent position of AASC on the international stage. Through this event, we not only connect leading experts to address the challenges facing emerging markets but also seek to convey the image of an innovative, sustainable, and culturally rich Vietnam to our friends around the world.”
The conference was officially opened under the chairmanship of Mr. Bill Hagaman – Chairman of HLB Global. Delivering a welcoming speech, Dr. Tran Khanh Lam – Vice President and Secretary General of VACPA, and Chairman of GAC, CAPA, emphasized the increasingly important role of Vietnam on the regional economic map.
The opening highlight of the professional discussion sessions was the speech by Dr. Can Van Luc – Chief Economist of BIDV and Member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council. With the theme “Vietnam as the Growth Hub of the Asia-Pacific Region: Supply Chains, Trade Corridors & FDI Trends,” he provided a comprehensive picture of opportunities to reshape global trade networks, affirming Vietnam’s position as an indispensable link in supply chains and a key destination for international investment.
Moving beyond macro-level analysis, this year’s Conference focused on two pillars shaping the future of the industry: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability.
On the third working day, HLB’s leading experts explored the topic “Why AI Adoption Cannot Be Delayed.” From boosting efficiency through real-world use cases to exploring how AI can scale advisory practices, the conference provided a practical and timely perspective on digital transformation.
On the fourth day, the focus shifted to ESG and social responsibility. Mr. Pham Hoang Hai – Representative of WWF Vietnam, shared important insights into how businesses and stakeholders can collaborate to navigate the transition towards sustainability. Panel discussions on capital markets, M&A in emerging economies, and the integration of ESG into supply chains provided valuable strategic perspectives for HLB members in advising global clients.
In particular, the program “Voices of Vietnam: CSR Cultural Heritage Experience,” featuring a traditional musical instrument workshop with local artisans, was not only a bonding activity but also a strong message from AASC about its commitment to preserving cultural heritage and supporting community development. The event concluded with relaxing moments at Binh Chau Hot Springs (Vung Tau), leaving participants with a lasting impression of a Vietnam that is dynamic yet poetic and gentle.
The HLB Asia Pacific & Emerging Markets Conference 2026 concluded with great success. The event not only strengthened the global strategic cooperation network but also affirmed AASC’s organizational capacity, vision, and hospitality. Looking ahead, AASC will continue to promote its role as a bridge, bringing global knowledge and expertise to Vietnam while simultaneously elevating the Vietnamese brand on the international stage.
